PIXEL~PHONE BY GOOGLE
With the advent of several new Companies launching their flagship devices and leading fore runners already into competition, google seems to have taken a bold step with the advent of pixel, its new flagship smart phone killer. Where one may see this as a contradictory move, Google has tried to play this smart by competing with its own partners.
Although Google has tried its best not to stretch it's pixels with the launch of Google Pixel, it seems like an uphill task for google to compete with the market leaders like Samsung and Apple. As far as the make is concerned it is clearly evident that Google has tried to target Apple by providing the customers with a choice there by placing them in a dilemmatic situation. The Phone feels pretty sturdy in hand with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4 adding a premium tinge to it with slight curvature! The back and sides are a single metal frame except for a large patch of glass on the upper third of the rear. This allows for antennas to work without being blocked, but there are still thick antenna lines on the top and sides of the frame. The phone also boasts a finger print scanner on to the rear which seems to be pretty responsive. The pixel is on to a heavier side with 3.5mm jack on the top and type c usb port for charging and with two speaker grills one of which is the speaker actually 😛
A Top Notch Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC with 2.15 ghz cores and 2 1.6ghz cores for efficiency along with integrated Adreno 530 Graphics for boosting up visuals and graphics. It comes in 2 variants with 4 GB RAM and a) 32 GB non-expandable storage (29.7 GB) user available b) 128 GB which actually looks better from long term perspective. The pixel (xl) boasts a resolution of 1980x2560 pixels and the plain pixel carries 1080x1920 5 inch panel!
The rear camera is 12.3 megapixels with 1.55µm pixel plus phase detection and laser auto focus. The front camera is an 8MP which fairs up well too. Over all the phone looks pretty solid performance wise but in the long run, how it fairs up vis a vìs its ancestor nexus devices. Hopefully the phone should live upto the expectations of the customers in long run especially after paying such a hefty price for this phone.
